Eyelids
Dr. Peterson performs cosmetic eyelid surgery frequently as it is a common first cosmetic facial surgery. The eyes are our most revealing facial feature. Hereditary factors and the signs of aging can greatly impact the appearance of our eyes and thus our facial aging. Cosmetic eyelid surgery, technically called blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure that will reveal a more youthful and energetic appearance to the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both.
Upper eyelid surgery can treat loose or sagging skin that creates folds or hides the natural contour of the upper eyelid. In addition, upper lid blepharoplasty can correct excess skin that hangs down and impairs vision, and can reduce excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the upper eyelid.
Lower eyelid surgery can correct bags under the eyes, droopiness of the lower eyelid and excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid.
