Is Dr. Peterson Board Certified?

Dr. Peterson is board certified in both Plastic Surgery and in Otorhinolaryngology (ear, nose and throat). He also completed a cranio-facial fellowship that makes him uniquely qualified to be the team leader and plastic surgeon for the Topeka cleft lip and palate team. Look for the twin arcs that form the logo of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. This symbol of excellence is the sign that your surgeon is board certified in Plastic Surgery.

What is a cosmetic consultation and why do I need one?

Often patients are not sure what type of surgery is right for their desired results. During a consultation, Dr. Peterson will help you decide which procedures are the right choice for you, based on your current situation and your desired long term results. Dr. Peterson will spend time with you answering your questions and perform an individualized exam to make specific recommendations. You will also spend time with a patient coordinator discussing the surgical process, expectations and timelines. You will be given a written quote of all fees. You can plan on spending approximately 1 hour here in our office during your consultation.

How much is a consultation with Dr. Peterson?

A cosmetic consultation with Dr. Peterson is $90. The $90 charge is then applied as a down payment on your account towards your surgery. Once you have paid your consultation fee, you are always a cosmetic client of Dr. Peterson’s and will not have to pay the fee again.

How long does it take to get a consultation appointment?

This office holds cosmetic appointments available to allow you to be able to see Dr Peterson within 1 week of your contact with us.

Will smoking be a problem?

Dr. Peterson will ask you to be smoke-free a minimum of 2 weeks prior to surgery. Depending on the situation, he will cancel or re-schedule your surgery if you do not follow his recommendation. Smoking is proven to delay healing in surgical patients and will also cause accelerated ageing and wrinkling of your skin.
