Filler Injections

Dr. Peterson offers a wide range of facial fillers to customize the product to fit your specific needs. These are all in- office procedures that can be done during your initial consultation appointment.  Treatment and recovery are usually less than one hour. All facial fillers procedures can have redness and bruising as a side effect that should resolve in a short period.  We recommend that you discontinue use of non-steroidal medicines such as Ibuprofen, Aleve and aspirin as well as supplements such as ginseng, ginkgo, green tea and fish oil one week prior to injection to minimize bruising.

Juvéderm Ultra XC™ is a hyaluronic acid gel from a natural complex sugar. It is a good choice for medium depth facial folds around the nose and mouth, upper lip lines and lip augmentation. The XC following the name means that lidocaine numbing has been added directly to the product for increased comfort during injection. This product will last 6-9 months.

Cosmoderm® and Cosmoplast® are made from human collagen so there is no need for skin testing to check for allergic reactions. This product is injected just below the skin surface to fill in crow’s feet, frown lines between the eyes and to augment lips. It generally lasts 4-6 months.  

Radiesse® is a dermal filler made from calcium hydroxylapatite in a water-based gel. This product is a deep filler used for significant facial folds and for sculpting of cheeks. The FDA has approved addition of lidocaine to the product for increased comfort during injection. Radiesse is also a painless way to minimize the visual aging of hands. This product will last 9-12 months.
