Liposuction
Dr. Peterson performs liposuction to help patients who are near their idea weight sculpt away diet- and exercise-resistant fat. In Liposuction is a common cosmetic procedure and is not intended for weight loss. Dr. Peterson performs liposuction on both men and women who are close to their ideal weight and want to eliminate fatty areas that do not respond to exercise and diet.
Liposuction will remove the excess fat from those areas with tiny tubes that are inserted into small incisions near the area. This procedure removes fat, but does not address possible excess skin. Compression garments are used during recovery to reduce the instance of excess skin in come cases.
Dr. Peterson uses the proven tumescent technique, where large volumes of a specially formulated solution are injected to decrease post-operative bleeding and pain.
Generally, patients will be on a lifting and exercise restriction of 6 weeks after surgery. You will be wearing the compression garment for 4 weeks. Most people can return to work in one week on light duty.
